Who is Vigilante from Arrow? (Spoilers)

Another season of Arrow came to a close earlier this week with an explosive (pun intended) finale. With Oliver backed into a corner, forced to choose between saving his son, William, or his friends trapped on a explosives-rigged Lian Yu, things weren't looking too good for Ollie. Ultimately, Oliver chose saving William which prompted Adrian Chase to pull the final plug, figuratively and literally. By taking his own life, the kill switch linking Adrian's lifeline to the C-4 embedded all across the island, was triggered, blowing Lian Yu and seemingly Team Arrow, to bits. While the finale was the best one since the first season's, one mystery unresolved by the end of Season Five, was the identity of the anti-hero, Vigilante. This will be one of my less lengthy posts, so I'll go ahead and jump right into who I theorize will be under the ski mask, and also who I'd personally like Vigilante's identity to be.

1. Joe Wilson, Son of Slade

Better known to the DC Universe as Jericho, who as stated above, is the son of Slade Wilson. This seems like the more obvious theory as to who Vigilante is. Oliver revealing to Slade in the finale about his son being alive can't just be a coincidence. Also, with the Vigilante mystery arc branching out further past a single season, it seems highly likely that Jericho will reveal himself as the ski masked gunman.

2. Adrian Chase

What if I told you, Adrian Chase is NOT Prometheus in the comics? Shocking, right? Not so much for those who follow the comics. For those who are unaware, Adrian Chase's alias in the comics is none other than VIGILANTE. That's right, folks. The Arrow writers had us fooled. Introducing both Prometheus and Vigilante in the same season as "Adrian Chase" just to throw us off. Those damn red herrings, I tell you. "Adrian" later on in the season was revealed as Prometheus, real name: Simon Morrison. Which makes you wonder, why choose the name Adrian Chase? The simple answer here is Arrow is going The Flash-route and trying to pull a fast one on us (pun intended). Similar to how "Jay Garrick" in Season Two of The Flash turned out to be Hunter Zolomon posing as Jay Garrick, perhaps Prometheus was posing as the real Adrian Chase? Very lazy of the writers if this is the route they're going down, if I do say so myself. I was already a little disappointed as to how similar Prometheus was to Zoom, but hey, Prometheus AND Zoom made some pretty bad-ass villains, so who am I to complain?

And for the GRAND FINALE, here's who I personally want Vigilante to be. I originally wanted this character to be Prometheus but after THAT theory flew out the window, I shifted it over to Vigilante's identity. Drum roll, please...

TOMMY MERLYN!

That's right, Tommy FUCKING Merlyn is who I want Vigilante to be. Yes, I'm well aware Tommy's been deceased since the very first season BUT with the introduction of The Flash, anything seems possible now. Who's to say Tommy's evil doppelganger twin from Earth 2 hasn't made his way to Star City on Earth 1? If Laurel can have one, why can't Tommy? It'd be interesting to see Earth 2 Tommy and Laurel interacting. Or what if Barry dabbling too much with the timelines somehow saved Tommy's life? The possibilities are endless when it comes to the supernatural aspects of the Arrowverse these days. Speaking of supernatural aspects, could Constantine have brought Tommy back to the land of the living? Like I said, endless possibilities.

Who are your guesses on Vigilante's secret identity? Sound off in the comments below!
